The DPI methodology has been developed and constantly improved over the course of our three decades in the search business. We create a specialized team for each assignment consisting of a Managing Partner to lead the project, Partner-level recruiters with relevant domain experience, and an Administrative Assistant specifically dedicated to managing the day-to-day administration of the search. All client and initial candidate contact is made by Partners. We do not rely on a back room of "researchers" to develop candidates, as many firms do. The benefit of this approach to the client is a focused, collaborative, informed, and accessible team. Throughout the search, we maintain a regular dialogue with our clients and candidates to ensure that the project moves steadily toward a successful conclusion.
The phases of our process - each of which are critical to the overall success of the project - are defined below. Most importantly, we can easily customize this process to fit the specific needs and style of our clients.
DISCOVERY PHASE
Meet and interview the selection team to understand our client's business and culture
Establish and prioritize key selection criteria and develop a detailed position description
Choose strategic research targets and identify top management in the appropriate functional areas
Source our proprietary database and strategic industry contacts for additional prospects
Review and calibrate results of research with the client
DEVELOPMENT PHASE
Contact, qualify, and screen prospects
Conduct face-to-face interviews and informal reference checks on the best prospects
Regularly update client on candidate status and market intelligence findings
Submit background summaries and analysis on the most qualified candidates
Orchestrate scheduling of first-round client interviews
DECISION PHASE
Client selection of "short-list" candidates for subsequent interviews
Collectively assess relative strengths and "fit" of each candidate to narrow the field
Conduct comprehensive formal reference checks on finalists, including names not provided by candidates when appropriate
Collaborate with client on the design of a competitive compensation package and work together to close the deal
