David Powell, Jr. joined the executive search practice of David Powell, Inc. (DPI) in 1990. He has led successful Board, CEO, and officer-level searches in marketing, sales, engineering, operations, information technology, and finance. Dave has been a leader in establishing our reputation as a top tier client-focused executive search firm.
Dave has successfully completed assignments for PMC-Sierra, Inc. (Nasdaq: PMCS), Virage Logic Corporation (Nasdaq: VIRL), Brocade Communications Systems (Nasdaq: BRCD), and Dust Networks; as well as the key portfolio companies of Crescendo Ventures, General Catalyst Partners, Norwest Venture Partners, Sofinnova Ventures,Technology Partners, and U.S. Venture Partners.
Prior to joining DPI, Dave worked for Ingram Micro, Inc. (formerly Micro D, Inc.), a multi-billion dollar international distributor of computer products in account management and channel marketing, including direct support of Claris Corporation, a subsidiary of Apple Computer, Inc. He also worked in outbound marketing for General Parametrics, a manufacturer of multimedia presentation systems.
Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Dave received a Bachelors degree in Social Science with emphasis on International Business and Economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
Dave, his wife and three children live in Alamo. He enjoys cooking, music, home improvement, ice hockey, skiing, fly-fishing, and other outdoor activities.
