Bill Wraith joined David Powell, Inc. (DPI) in 1978 and has played a major role in establishing DPI as a top-tier executive search firm. He has led successful Board, CEO, and senior officer-level searches for high technology, health care, construction, power generation, petroleum, mining, chemical, and environmental clients.
Bill has successfully completed assignments for Bechtel Corporation, Newmont Mining (NYSE: NEM), Rio Tinto Group (NYSE: RTP), Homestake Mining Company, Great Plains Gasification Consortium, and Tenneco Corporation.
Prior to joining DPI, Bill was a senior executive with Marcona Corporation, an international mining and ocean transportation firm. Previously, he spent eight years with The Anaconda Company, an integrated producer and fabricator of copper, aluminum, and uranium.
Bill obtained Bachelors and Masters degrees in Minerals Engineering and a MBA from Stanford University.
In 1988, Bill received a Resolution from the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, honoring his civic contributions; and numerous awards from Stanford University, including the Outstanding Achievement Award in 1988, Special Award for Dedication to Stanford University Medical Center in 1992, and the Gold Spike in 1993, Stanford's highest award for fundraising. He belongs to the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration (SME).
